New kayaks and lifejackets in use.

Blue Light is a community Police initiative which provides children with entertainment, cultural, social and sporting events free from alcohol, drugs and violence.

In North Rodney, Blue Light has recently benefited from a grant from SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust. The grant has enabled them to purchase new kayaks and lifejackets for water activities.

Shane Gould from Blue Light says that the funding enables them to keep equipment to a high standard.

“Our water activities are popular and in high demand, so the SKYCITY grant has been essential in enabling us to continue these activities,” says Shane.

“Blue Light aims to help youth develop into adults who posses the skills and desire to reach their full potential. Through the generosity of SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust and other sponsors we are able to fulfil this goal.”

Our thanks to SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust for providing this article.
