Young Auckland diabetic patients have reaped the benefits of a two-year landmark health programme to battle a looming health crisis.
The Starship Children and Young People’s Diabetes Prevention and Management Project has completed its trial aimed at providing a more effective way for medical staff and patients to manage diabetes. The trial has achieved outstanding results.
SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust provided funding and Trustee Patsy Reddy says that she is delighted that the Trust has been able to contribute to such a worthy cause.
“Diabetes is increasing in New Zealand at an alarming rate,” says Patsy. “The Starship’s programme is making a real difference to our children – teaching them how to manage this disease and educating them towards a healthier lifestyle. It’s work which the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust is proud to support.” Our thanks to SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust for providing this article.
