Council grants give back to the community Auckland City Council has recently put more than $1.67 million back into the community through two of its community grant funds. Canterbury University postgraduate student awarded Earle Scholarship in Technology. Canterbury University postgraduate student William Kelton is one of three recipients of a Dick and Mary Earle Scholarship in Technology for 2008; it was announced today by the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (NZVCC). Managed by Public Trust, William’s scholarship is worth $8,500. The other winners are Massey University postgraduate student Alistair Scarfe, and Waikato University postgraduate student Lisa van den Berg. Funding support for school holiday programmes. The Auckland Children's Development Trust is one of 19 school holiday programme providers in Auckland city that has received funding from Auckland City Council's school holiday programme fund.
